Where

Reflection

Where – did I get my start?

I first started painting at the age of 4-5 years old, when my mother enrolled me in art classes at the Edmonton Art Gallery. Over the years, I painted as an escape. In my teen years, I read “The Lord of the Rings”, which inspired an early passion for “high fantasy” art. I also tried portrait paintings, but quickly realized that landscapes, not portraiture, were more my forte. Landscapes became my focus, and my career in outside sales gave me the opportunity to use my camera in my travels. The photographs became the inspiration for many of the paintings. Some of the photos painted are from vacations in Canada and North America.
